I’m Phil Capon, a born-and-bred Kent artist with a passion for bringing colour and creativity to life.

My artistic journey began with a formal education in graphic design at Portsmouth and Berkshire College of Art, where I had the honour of learning from the likes of the legendary David Hockney. Inspired by the masters, I honed my skills and embarked on a fruitful career as an Art Director/Creative Director in London's leading advertising agencies.

Eventually, I made the bold decision to trade the hustle and bustle of advertising for the tranquillity of the French countryside. There, amidst the rustic charm of an old farm complex, I immersed myself in the world of painting, drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature and my surroundings.

After a decade of life in France, I returned to the UK, settling on the picturesque Isle of Wight. Surrounded by a community of fellow artists at Binnel Studios in St Lawrence, I had the privilege of working and exhibiting alongside esteemed figures such as David Firmstone (OBE) and Celia Wilkinson, and celebrated Potter, Molly Attrill.

Nowadays, you'll find me back in Kent, where I've set up a studio in my beautiful garden. From this creative sanctuary, my work reaches far and wide, adorning walls in homes across the globe. This summer I am exhibiting at The Eclectic Gallery in Margate.
